Event: Tibetan Buddhism Class Series - Padmasambhava's Seven Line Prayer and Teachings on the Six Bardo States Time: Starting June 3, 2010 every Thursday from 7:15 PM - 8:45 PM: Location: Shambhala Meditation Center, 2931 Grand Street NE, Minneapolis, MN 55418 () Info: We will start the Thursday night series with several weeks of teachings on the Explanation of the Seven-Line Prayer to Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava). Khenpo Sherab Sangpo will base his teachings on the text and treasure teaching of Jamgon Mipham's "White Lotus." The Seven Line Prayer is the most majestic of all prayers to Guru Rinpoche. It has been cherished for centuries as a powerful way to invoke Padmasambhava's blessings. This teaching will continue with several weeks of teachings by Khenpo Sherab Sangpo on the six "in-between" (bardo) states. These are the bardo between birth and death; the bardo of dreams; the bardo of meditation; the bardo of death; the bardo of luminosity of the true nature; and the bardo of rebirth. Suggested donation: $15/class, but no one will be turned away due to lack of funds. All are welcome to attend. -------- Event: Tibetan Buddhism Class Series - Longchenpa's Text: Finding Comfort and Ease Time: Starting June 6, 2010 every Sunday from 10:15 AM- 11:45 AM Location: Bodhicitta Sangha Meditation Center, 3000 West River Parkway, #212, Minneapolis, MN 55406 (map) Please ring door buzzer marked "RICHARDS" to gain entrance to the building. Info: This teaching series will focus on Longchenpa's "Finding Comfort and Ease." This series of three texts will be a great foundation for new students and more experienced practitioners alike. Via Longchenpa's texts, the entire path of Buddhism is presented; starting with the four thoughts that change the mind and moving on to an explanation of the stages of the path, the ground, and the view. The series begins with the book "Resting in the Nature of the Mind", which lays out the entire path of entering the dharma. Once the stages of the path are explained, step by step instructions on the meditation practice will be given. Teachings from the third book in the series, "Resting in the Nature of Illusion", will offer insight into the importance of non-attachment and non-clinging to phenomena. Suggested donation: $15/class, but no one will be turned away due to lack of funds.
